A hand is holding one of the sponges and is squishing it to show how bendable it is. It can easily bend around plate edges or the rims of mugs. Image 2 of 4

3 hemp sponges are sat on top of each other in a cascading fashion. You can see the edges of the sponges more clearly here. They are tightly stitched giving you an extra edge to clean small gaps with. Image 3 of 4

The sponge is in a kitchen setting hanging from a hook attached to a white tile. A dishcloth is also on its right hand side. There are some bamboo brushes as well as a pink and white soap dispenser. Image 4 of 4

What you will need:
• 30g / 180 yards of sport weight yarn. I used 100% Hemp yarn. See below for some other sustainable yarn suggestions.
• 3.0mm / C-2 hook
• Scissors
• Darning/Tapestry Needle

Other Yarn Recommendations
Here are some yarn alternatives that I think would work really well.

  • LoveCrafts, Debbie Bliss Eco Baby (100% Organic Cotton)

  • LoveCrafts Schachenmayr Organic Cotton (100% Organic Cotton)

Gauge: 20 tr and 10 rows over 10cm (4”)

The best thing about them is, if you use a natural yarn, they are fully home compostable too, so once you have worn it out, you can simply cut it up and pop it into your compost.

The pattern is written in English and you will receive one PDF containing two patterns, one with U.S. crochet terms and one with U.K. terms. They include plenty of progress photos to help you on your way and full descriptions of each stitch used.
